On November 23, the 2024 China MCC Project Manager Training Course kicked off in Chengdu. This training course was jointly organized by the Engineering Project Management Department and the Party Committee Organization Department (Human Resources Department) of the company, and was undertaken by China MCC19. Bai Xiaohu, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of MCC Group and China MCC, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
He pointed out that engineering projects are the foundation for our development and the source of profits. Project managers have grave responsibilities, and the training to them is of crucial importance. He analyzed multiple aspects such as current macro situation, industry status quo, advantages of competitors, as well as our own deficiencies in contract performance management, business value creation, technological innovation and marketing; systematically formulated the main paths for improving project management in the face of these challenges and deficiencies: first, optimize the engineering management system to improve production contract performance efficiency; second, improve the business management system to enhance the project profitability; third, strengthen the foundation of safety management to boost its effectiveness; fourth, reinforce the construction of quality capabilities to raise the level of quality management; fifth, upgrade the application management of platforms to enhance the level of digital empowerment. At the same time, there were five requirements for trainees, namely, studying earnestly, communicating actively, thinking innovatively, emphasizing practical results, and abiding by discipline.
Ou Chenghua, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of China MCC19, delivered a welcome speech. Zhang Yuxia, Head of Party Committee Organization Department (Human Resources Department) of China MCC, attended the opening ceremony, and read the list of course committee and the training discipline. Yu Rui, Deputy Head of Engineering Project Management Department of China MCC, presided over the opening ceremony.
The training course lasted for 7 days. Internal and external experts were invited to offer multiple courses to carry out project management discussions on 10 themes. For the first time, a scenario-based sand table for engineering project management combining "Training and Practice" was introduced. And finally, assessment was conducted in the form of a closed-book exam and a report defense. A total of 102 trainees from 28 engineering subsidiaries participated in the training on site, and about 17,000 people watched it online.
