On August 23, Chen Jianguang, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of the China Minmetals, Secretary of the Party Committee of MCC, and Chairman of MCC and China MCC, met with Lu Weidong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Nanjing Jiangbei New Area Party Working Committee, at MCC Tower. The two sides discussed and exchanged views on further strengthening government-business cooperation.

Chen Jianguang welcomed Lu Weidong and his delegation and briefly introduced MCC's "One Establishment, the Best and the Most Trusted, and Five Strengths" development goals and its business system of "One Core, Two Subjects, and Five Characteristics." He noted that the Nanjing Jiangbei New Area is a crucial node for driving development in the Yangtze River Delta and the upstream regions of the Yangtze River, with strong economic momentum and upward potential. This offers a broad stage for businesses. Several subsidiaries of MCC have long been serving, developing, and deepening their engagement in the New Area, establishing a profound friendship through their friendly cooperation. MCC will further align with the high-quality development needs of Nanjing City and Jiangbei New Area, innovate cooperation models, and broaden the scope and depth of collaboration. The Group aims to seize opportunities and take the initiative in driving local socio-economic development.

Lu Weidong praised MCC for its achievements in high-quality development over recent years and briefly introduced the basic situation of Nanjing City and Jiangbei New Area. He noted that MCC has strong comprehensive strength and advanced management concepts, and has developed a number of landmark projects in Jiangsu Province, such as Zenith Steel Group and the Nanjing International Expo Center. As a pilot zone for independent innovation approved by the State Council, a demonstration area for new urbanization, a modern industrial cluster in the Yangtze River Delta, and an important platform for opening up and cooperation along the Yangtze River Economic Belt, Jiangbei New Area is currently focusing on developing Nanjing’s new main city with high quality and high standards. The goal is to build a robust industrial city and a significant growth engine. It is hoped that both sides will accelerate and strengthen multi-level exchanges and cooperation based on their deep partnership, achieving more results in key areas such as regional development and construction, industrial and technological innovation, and high-quality infrastructure development. The New Area will precisely and efficiently provide project services through four major actions: supporting enterprises, project construction, integrating research and production, and attracting investment. These efforts aim to accelerate the implementation of cooperation projects.

Participants in the meeting included Chen Wenbin, Member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area; Tao Lei; and relevant officials Tong Ji, Ni Zhigang, Wang Weihua, Xu Xiang, and Ge Xiaoyong.
