On the morning of July 29, MCC and China MCC held the 2024 Mid-year Work Conference in Changchun to thoroughly study and implement the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, fully implement the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, conscientiously implement the spirit of the seminar for heads of central enterprises held by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and the mid-year economic operation analysis conference of China Minmetals, systematically summarize the work achievements in the first half of the year, arrange and deploy the key work in the second half of the year, focus on high-quality development, jointly plan the key work for the future, make every effort to complete the annual task goals, and ensure the long-term and steady development of the enterprise.

        Chen Jianguang, Deputy General Manager and member of the Party Leadership Group of China Minmetals, Secretary of the Party Committee of MCC, and Chairman of MCC and China MCC, attended the conference and delivered a speech entitled Strengthening Confidence, Boosting Morale, Sticking to Goals, Shouldering Responsibilities, Focusing on High-quality Development, and Promoting the Further Transformation and Upgrading of the Enterprise; Yan Aizhong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of MCC and China MCC, presided over the conference; Zou Hongying, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of MCC and China MCC, and Vice President and Chief Accountant of China MCC, presented the economic operation analysis report; other members of the leadership team announced relevant commendation decisions; Lang Jia and Liu Li, outside directors of China MCC, attended the conference.

        Regarding the progress of the work in the first half of the year, Chen Jianguang summarized it from six aspects: Resolutely implement the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee; resolutely and decidedly promote the inspection rectification of the CPC Central Committee; focus on annual goals and tasks to press ahead step by step; strive for orders and strengthen contract performance to demonstrate market vitality; promote reforms and innovations to stimulate internal driving forces; strengthen management and prevent risks to consolidate the foundation for development. He called on all cadres and employees to climb over obstacles and overcome difficulties with the greatest confidence, determination, self-assurance, and courage, and unswervingly promote the further transformation and upgrading of the enterprise.

        Regarding the key operation and management tasks for the second half of the year, Chen Jianguang proposed to solidly carry out work in six aspects: First, we should stabilize growth, achieve indicators, and firmly focus on annual task goals. Second, we should strengthen collaboration, expand the market, and strive to build differentiated competitive advantages without hesitation. Third, we should consolidate foundations, improve quality and efficiency, and continuously elevate the level of operation and management without interruption. Fourth, we should prevent risks, ensure safety, and vigorously fortify the defenses for steady development without laxity. Fifth, we should implement rectifications, promote integration, and further unify thinking and build consensus without hesitation. Sixth, we should strengthen Party building and discipline, and unceasingly advance comprehensive and strict governance over the Party.

        Regarding the medium- to long-term work strategies and measures, Chen Jianguang emphasized the importance of strengthening the construction of "Five Forces": maintaining determination, tapping potential, improving capabilities, enhancing vitality, and forming synergy to further establish a path and provide guidance for the reform, development, and further transformation and upgrading of MCC in the coming period. Additionally, he also highlighted the importance of preparing well for the audit inspection conducted by the National Audit Office.

        The conference recognized and honored the outstanding Communist Party members, excellent Party workers, and advanced grass-root Party organizations of MCC, as well as the award-winning projects of the 2023 State Science and Technology Awards, and the winning units and representatives of the “Top 20 Comprehensive Strengths” third-level institutions of CMC in 2023. The representatives of the two outstanding third-level institutions of CMC made an exchange of experience. Additionally, the conference invited two chief securities analysts to deliver lectures on the construction and real estate sectors from a capital market perspective.

        A total of 130 people attended the conference, including non-group senior executives of MCC, other working group members, main leaders of various subsidiaries, secretaries of the Shanghai Enterprise Party Working Committee, heads of various departments of the headquarters, as well as some winning units and representatives.
