On the morning of June 24, 2024, the State Science and Technology Conference, the State Science and Technology Award Conference, the 21st General Assembly of Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the 17th General Assembly of Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering were grandly held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended the conference and delivered an important speech. MCC won three 2023 State Science and Technology Awards. Among them, WISDRI won the second prize of the State Technological Invention Award, while CRIBC and China ENFI each won the second prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award.

The project "Key Technologies and Applications for the Preparation of Ultra-Stable Materials from Large-Scale Fine-Grained Solid Wastes with Low Calcium Content" participated and completed by WISDRI won the second prize of the State Technological Invention Award. This achievement addresses the significant demand for large-scale and safe utilization of large-scale fine-grained solid waste, pioneering key technologies such as a new method for low-calcium activation of large-scale fine-grained solid waste at ordinary temperature, and forming a full-industry-chain innovation system.

The "Development and Application of Key Generic Technologies for Electromagnetic Control in the Preparation of Large Metal Blanks" participated and completed by the CRIBC won the second prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award. This achievement enhances the cleanliness, uniformity, and grain refinement of large metal blanks through innovation in new electromagnetic control theories, technologies, and equipment, thereby meeting the demand for key materials in China's high-end manufacturing industry.

The "Efficient Conversion, Precise Control, and Intelligent Automation System for Non-ferrous Metallurgy" participated and completed by China ENFI won the second prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award. This achievement has opened up a new path for achieving efficient material conversion throughout the entire process under complex raw material conditions through innovative intelligent automation technology, contributing to the intelligent transformation of the non-ferrous metallurgy industry.

MCC's scientific and technological work is always guided by the "Five Core Essentials", adhering to the goal of "One Establishment, the Best and the Most Trusted, and Five Strengths", continuously focusing on high-quality development, comprehensively coordinating the overall layout of scientific and technological work, strengthening the research and development of key core technologies, comprehensively reserving major scientific and technological achievements, and promoting the application of achievements from multiple angles. This has ensured that MCC maintains a leading position in terms of scientific and technological rewards among metallurgical and construction central enterprises for many consecutive years, comprehensively enhancing the MCC's influence in the national and industrial scientific and technological reward systems, and providing strong technological support for MCC's further transformation and upgrading.
