On April 12, mainstream media such as CCTV-13, Chongqing Daily, People's Daily Online, and Sichuan News reported intensively on the joining of the main span of the Fuxing Yangtze River Bridge of Chongqing Jianglong Expressway constructed by China MCC19.

The Fuxing Yangtze River Bridge is a single-span double-hinge simply supported steel box girder suspension bridge with a main span of 1,208 m, a north main tower height of 215 m, a south main tower height of 200 m, and a bridge deck width of 41.1 m. It is designed with two-way six lanes, emergency lanes, and sidewalks. The main bridge is prefabricated and hoisted by steel box girders, with a total of 81 girder sections and a steel consumption of 23,000 tons. The steel box girder is hoisted using two intelligent cable cranes with a hoisting capacity of 550 t, which are erected synchronously and symmetrically from the middle of the span to both sides of the strait. The maximum weight of the steel girder reaches 278.8 t.

On April 11, with the successful hoisting of the last steel box girder, the main span of the Fuxing Yangtze River Bridge was joined, which indicated an important breakthrough made in the project construction process, laying a solid foundation for the bridge to be fully completed and opened to traffic in 2024.

It is reported that the Fuxing Yangtze River Bridge is the largest control node project of the Jianglong Expressway, a longitudinal channel in the "three horizontal roads and one vertical roads" transportation network in northeast Chongqing. After completion, it will become the largest span bridge in Chongqing, the Three Gorges Reservoir area, and the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, greatly changing the traffic pattern of the Three Gorges Reservoir area in northeast Chongqing and transforming the connection between the north and south of the Yangtze River from imagination to reality.
